News of the Different – Easy, Rider

When Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper created Wyatt and Billy in 1969, they never thought they’d have so much influence over American counterculture. Nearly 40 years later, their influence remains undimmed.

I’m not sure if these two were on their way out of Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery fresh from an LSD binge on their way to Mardi Gras or if they were keeping it local and heading to Calle Ocho. Nevertheless, can anyone explain the Barbie doll posse hanging on for dear life?

Should we ask to check the gas tank?

I can’t quite put my finger on this one.

This photograph was taken by one of our loyal readers. It was shot near the Central Business District on the street that serves as the baseline that divides all the streets on the Miami-Dade County grid plan from north and south. Thanks for sharing, Jorge. You are a true public servant…wink, wink.

We have always heard of this urban legend of a supposed memo that went out to all Anglo Americans in Miami-Dade some time ago. According to the legend this memo said amongst other things and I’m paraphrasing here ….”Will the last American to leave, please take the flag”….well my friends …I think we are not only witnessing history but this also confirms the story we have heard of. It does seem that our friend did take it a bit literal, though. On this day we say to you… our patriotic, over accessorized, multiple rearview mirror collecting, Barbie adoring, Pirate flag waving, (according to Adrian) LSD trying, bike riding friend….Bon Voyage ….and God Speed my friend.

He’s probably got an oz’er of the funkete in the trunk. Can’t help but wonder what tunes he cranks on the stereo….If you see an old man at Walgreens with a helmet in his hand buying a Barbie doll, you’ll be able to explain it now…or not!

Surely, it must have a stereo & probably a jack for his pink ipod nano too!
